【様々な生物に利用可能なDNA改変技術の研究】
私たちは、新しい遺伝子改変技術であるゲノム編集や、ゲノム編集を効率よく活用するための周辺技術開発、ゲノム編集を利用した様々な生物の遺伝子機能改変研究を進めています。生命の恒常性に関わる重要な遺伝子や、植物環境応答の分子機構解明による知見を元に、最新の遺伝子工学による研究を通し、難病治療や環境変動下における食糧危機など、様々な社会問題の解決にチャレンジしています。
なぜ・なにを追求する精密な科学の世界と、不思議・面白いを追求する感性の世界が融合した先に新しい発見が隠れています。生命原理に挑む日々の研鑽を積み上げ新しい研究・技術の世界を作り上げること、そして、その先に待っている社会に役立てられる瞬間を一緒に体験しましょう。
